TROPHIES > BLANFORD URIAL
BLANFORD URIAL

The combination hunt of these two different species can be done in the famed Dureji Game Management Area located in southern Pakistan, about 150 km (93 miles) north of Karachi. The area can be reached in three hours by following a mostly dirt road. The hunters are received in one of the houses built for the guests by the family that ruled the area for many centuries. It is probably one of the most luxurious hunting accommodations one can ever enjoy anywhere in Asia.

The area is traditionally known for its abundance of wildlife. Both species share the same habitat in many parts of the 130.000 ha territory and it is not very unusual to collect both animals on a single day. The highest point in the area is 3000’ while most of the hunting takes place at the altitude of 600 – 2100’.

The average horn length for the urial should be considered to be at around 28-29’’ while it is 37-38’’ with the Sind ibex. But expecting bigger trophy size is not so unrealistic since the trophy quality is getting better and better.

Due to hot weather conditions in the area, early season hunts in January, February and March are ideal. The temperature will be lower at this time of the year, which helps hunting considerably.
