EUROPEAN MOUFLON

All of the mouflon hunting in Croatia is free range. The animals grow to their full potential in their natural habitat without any human intervention. That is what probably has made Croatia one of the best mouflon hunting destinations – if not the best – in the last couple of years.

Mouflon can be hunted both on the islands and on the mainland along the charming Adriatic coastline. Gold medal rams are abundant on both. Due to the fact that vegetation is quite brushy on Tijat Island, stalking is almost impossible. Therefore, highseat hunting seems to be the only way to go about. On the other hand, mouflon hunting gets back to its conventional form of spot & stalk on the Peljesac Peninsula.

As with all other sheep and goat hunting, mouflon hunting is at its best during the rutting period, which happens to be any time between October 15 and November 15, although, the whole winter season is good all the way up to the end of May. Summer months from June till mid September are not advisable, since the animals refrain from coming out of the bushes in the heat of the day.

This hunt can be combined with a number of other animals such as Balkan Chamois, European Red Deer, European Brown Bear and European Roe Deer.
