Although Tajikistan consistently produces bigger Marco Polo rams, Kyrgyz ibex grows considerably larger than Tajik ibex. Therefore, Kyrgyzstan is considered to be one of the best –if not the best– destinations in the world for the premium quality Mid Asian ibex hunts. It is a well known fact that some of the biggest trophy entries in the SCI record book come from Kyrgyz Tian Shan. Every year a number of exceptional trophies are still collected here by trophy hunters that come from all over the world.

The elevations are several thousand feet lower than it would be in the case of Tajikistan. Hunts are almost always conducted on horse back.
